Flavourful City
Barcelona is the flavourful city that has it all. Great food, friendly people, shopping, museums, street art, stunning Catalan Modernism architecture, Ciutadella and Park Guell, and the soft sand of Barceloneta Beach!
Barcelona is a city of contrasts that dates back to the Roman Empire, founded in the first century BC. One should visit the Gothic and Jewish Quarters winding streets, restaurants, history, and hidden charm.
Las Ramblas
The picturesque pedestrian street in the Eixample district is one of the city’s most popular places: a beautiful place to people-watch while enjoying shops, cafés, restaurants, street performers, and clubs.
Passeig de Gracia
Plan a visit to the chique and luxurious fashion shopping district along the famous Passeig de Gracia boulevard and be in awe of the stunning architecture of Antonio Gaudi. Visit Chocolate Amatller and enjoy some lunch or hot chocolate at the cafe. The building was designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch and named Casa Amatller by its owner, Antoni Amatller, a master chocolatier. Add a 20-minute walk to Ciutadella Park to see the Arc de Triomf.
Antoni Gaudí
If you are a fan of the Modernisme movement and Art Nouveau, there is no better place to be than the epicentre of Barcelona. You can see the tremendous Neo-Gothic styles of Architect Antoni Gaudi combined with the influence of nature to create something new, beautiful, and iconic.
Gaudi’s masterpieces include Casa Batllo and La Pedrera-Casa. Add a 20-minute walk to Sagrada Familia cathedral or a 45-minute walk to Parc Guell.
Glorious Food
Barcelona’s food scene is one of the best in Europe. The city has a rich culinary tradition of over 1,000 years. Many restaurants serve authentic Catalan dishes, fresh seafood, and modern interpretations of traditional dishes, including tapas, paella, cava, sangria, and plenty of other options.
La Boqueria, in Las Ramblas, is one of the most famous markets in Barcelona. Iis open every day from 8 am to 8 pm, so you can drop by any time and find a wide variety of fresh produce, meats, fish and other delicacies.
Always Good Memories
It was my fourth time in Barcelona, and I highly recommend visiting. Barcelona has the urban bustle of a big city. It also has the charm and friendliness of a small town.
